Quay mug

A wide, low mug with a flat thumb rest. Holds 300 ml and sits under most coffee machines without tipping.

Oat glaze · 300 ml · dishwasher safe

Breakfast bowl

Deep enough for soup, shallow enough for cereal. The unglazed foot ring gives it grip on a wet worktop.

Iron red · 18 cm · oven safe to 220 °C

Ash jug

One litre, with a pulled handle and a spout cut to pour thin. Made for milk, water and cut branches in equal measure.

Ash glaze · 1 l · hand wash

Serving platter

Slab-built rather than thrown, so no two are the same length. The rim is left bare to show the body underneath.

Sand matte · 34 × 22 cm · oven safe

Tea cup, no handle

Thin walls, a rolled lip and a glaze that pools darker at the base. Sold in pairs because that is how they come off the wheel.

Slate blue · 180 ml · pair

Storage jar

A lidded jar for salt, coffee or dried beans. The lid seats on a ground rim, so it settles flat without a gasket.

Honey gloss · 900 ml · lid included

Seconds shelf

Pieces with a glaze crawl, a warped rim or a kiln kiss go on the seconds shelf at the studio. They hold water and food perfectly well; they simply did not come out as intended. Ask when you visit — the shelf is never the same twice.

Commissions

We take two commissions a season, usually a set of plates or mugs for a kitchen or a small restaurant. Lead time is roughly ten weeks from the first sample, longer if the glaze needs testing. Write with what you have in mind and how many.
